Named after Cricket’s beloved orange cat – a constant source of inspiration and mischief – the studio celebrates curiosity, warmth, and the simple pleasure of life. Every piece is created by hand with care, using professional quality materials so it can be cherished for years to come. Whether you’re purchasing an original painting, a limited-edition print, or commissioning a custom piece or portrait, you’re supporting independent artistry and bringing a bit more joy into the world than there was before. Based in Maricopa, Arizona, or online from wherever inspiration and a desire to capture that special moment, should strike.
Studio Description

Inspired by faith, family, friendship, and a very special 21-year-old studio cat named Steve, The Orange Cat Studio is a place where every brushstroke tells a story.
Artist Statement
At The Orange Cat Studio, I believe art is more than painting on paper or canvas. It is a love letter to a memory, a celebration of a life, and a way to hold onto a moment that might otherwise slip away.
Whether I’m painting a beloved family member, a treasured pet, a wedding portrait, or a favorite gathering place, my goal is always the same: to create artwork that makes people feel something long after they first see it. I paint the stories that matter most and turn memories into art and art into memories.

Mark
Behind every successful artist is someone patiently listening to creative ideas, offering encouragement, and occasionally serving as the voice of reason. At The Orange Cat Studio, that role belongs to Cricket’s husband, Mark, who proudly serves as CEO, Chief Supporter, Sounding Board, and Resident Reality-check Specialist. His unwavering encouragement and good humor help keep both the studio and the artist moving forward, one painting at a time.

Steve
And then, because we all know there’s another executive on staff… No introduction would be complete without Steve, the Studio Cat. As CFO, Chief Feline Officer, Steve oversees daily operations from his favorite chair, supervises all painting sessions, and ensures that proper snack breaks are observed. While his management style is admittedly relaxed, his contributions to studio morale are immeasurable.
